5. Watermelon Plates (Make 6)

With red:

Ch 2.
Row 1: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn (2)
Row 2: inc in each st, ch 1, turn (4)
Row 3: sc across, ch 1, turn (4)
Row 4: sc, inc, inc, sc, ch 1, turn (6)
Row 5: sc across (6)

Border: Join green and work sc evenly around the triangle, placing 3 sc in the tip.

Fasten off, leave long tail for sewing.

6. Watermelon Seeds

Use black embroidery yarn to stitch small vertical seed marks on each red plate.

7. Face Details

Place safety eyes low on the head for the sleepy side profile.
Embroider a short curved smile near the front of the muzzle.
Add pink cheek stitches just behind the smile.

8. Assembly

Sew the head to the front of the body with a slight downward angle.
Sew the four legs evenly under the body so the dinosaur stands level.
Attach the tail to the back of the body.
Pin the watermelon plates along the spine from shoulders to tail.
Sew the largest plates at the center back and smaller plates toward the tail.
Adjust stuffing through remaining openings if needed, then weave in all ends.
